Annual Production of 100,000, JAC Brazil Factory Lays Foundation

www.chinatrucks.com. The foundation stone laying ceremony for factory of JAC in Brazil was held on Dec.4, 2012. Executives from JAC and government officials of the two countries attended the ceremony. The factory will be put into production in 2014 with the annual productivity of 100,000 passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles.

JAC also confirmed the statistics that has been released previously. The company would establish joint venture with the local SNS company, which was the wholly-owned subsidiary under SHC. In the cooperation, JAC accounted for 34% of the stake shares while the other 66% belonged to SNS. The project would be invested with $ 250 million and the total investment would achieve $ 500 million.

The factory lies in Bahia with the coverage of 4.7 million square meters. With annual productivity of 100,000, the factory will create 3,500 direct and 10,000 indirect job openings for the local people. 80% of the construction will be completed by the Brazil side and JAC will assume the other 20%.

Though entering the Brazilian market in 2011, J3 and J3Turin from JAC have been at the leading position among independent vehicle companies. JAC has exported 37,725 units, including passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle, to Brazil in 2011 with the highest export record, ranking the second in all transnational brands.
