Japanese trucks makers to raise output of trucks in China
September 28,2011
www.chinatrucks.com: With shrinking trucks markets in Japan and booming trucks sales in BRICK
countries, some Japanese truck makers such as ISUZU and Hino increased production of trucks in China etc. markets.
Sales of large and medium trucks take 80% in rising countries with their increasing populations and booming economy. 1,300,000 trucks were sold in China last year, 2.5 times than that of 2006. And only 50,000 trucks were
sold in Japan. Therefore, many Japanese truck makers deepened cooperation with China counterparts. ISUZU plans to integrate spare parts standards to reduce costs in China, and they will also buy China made parts to reduce costs further. They will invest 20-30 bn Yen to cooperate with Qingling Motors to develop next generation GIGA trucks. Mitsubishi Fuso will buy 50% spare parts from overseas markets with the help of Daimler purchasing system. UD Truck Company will also develop truck parts with VOLVO truck.
