Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico Visits Gotion High-Tech in China

On November 4, during his official visit to China, Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico toured Gotion High-Tech’s headquarters in Hefei, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Denisa Sakova, as well as officials from Slovakia’s Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Slovak embassy.

Prior to the visit, Prime Minister Fico and his delegation held discussions with Anhui Province’s Party Secretary Liang Yanshun and Governor Wang Qingxian. The talks covered opportunities for cooperation in sectors such as automotive, new energy, tourism, and science and education. Gotion High-Tech’s Chairman Li Zhen also attended, and Prime Minister Fico expressed hope that Gotion’s investments in Slovakia would serve as an important milestone in strengthening relations between the two countries.

Gift of Battery Models and Charging Units Adds Light-Hearted Moment

While touring Gotion’s showroom, Prime Minister Fico explored battery pack designs and the benefits of solid-state battery technology. At Gotion’s Validation Institute, he received an in-depth briefing on the company’s battery testing and validation processes.

The Prime Minister then visited a new energy vehicle exhibition, where he viewed models from Chinese automakers such as Chery, JAC, Changan, Geely, Leapmotor, Great Wall, and Seres, all equipped with Gotion batteries.

To mark the occasion, Chairman Li presented Prime Minister Fico with a model battery cell and six portable charging stations. In response, the Prime Minister humorously remarked, “Now we can start a new business!”

Focus on Future Collaboration and Technology at VW UC Plant

Later, at Volkswagen’s UC plant in Xinzhang, Prime Minister Fico praised Gotion’s advanced battery cell manufacturing technology. He and Gotion representatives discussed plans for a potential Gotion plant in Slovakia.

Impressions and Ambitions for Slovakia-China Partnership

Chairman Li expressed his commitment to working with Slovakian partner InoBat and local experts to establish a model new energy project in Europe, with the support of both Prime Minister Fico and the Anhui government.

At the end of the visit, Prime Minister Fico shared his admiration for China’s new energy industry, saying the tour had reinforced his confidence in Gotion High-Tech. He announced that the Slovakian government would hold special meetings to explore and support future collaboration with Gotion, hoping this partnership will set a strong example for Slovakia-China cooperation and be a lasting foundation for mutual growth.
