IAA 2024: MAXUS eTerron 9 Makes Global Debut

September 18,2024

On September 16, MAXUS launched the eTerron 9 at IAA Transportation in Germany. This pickup is the first large electric truck exported from a Chinese brand, marking a significant milestone for MAXUS, which first showcased its vehicles at this event six years ago.

The eTerron 9 is designed on the Stargate GST platform and offers a remarkable range, with a 605-kilometer capability, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds. Its intelligent four-wheel drive system is suitable for over 400 different driving scenarios, making it perfect for outdoor adventures and enhancing the overall driving experience.

This launch follows the successful introductions of the EV80 and the Stargate EV, helping to set a new standard for Chinese electric pickups. Despite the challenges in the European market, MAXUS has successfully entered this space with advanced technology and strong safety ratings.

To date, MAXUS has sold over 180,000 pickups globally, performing particularly well in Europe, Australia, and the Americas. Vice President Xie Jiayue stated that more new models will be introduced to meet the diverse needs of customers worldwide.

The eTerron 9 has undergone extensive testing in various conditions, including extreme environments in China and rigorous road tests in Norway and Germany, ensuring it meets high international standards. It is notable for being the first 4x4 electric pickup in Europe built on a dedicated electric platform, achieving international five-star safety ratings.

Equipped with two electric motors, the eTerron 9 delivers a total power output of 325 kW, drawing energy from a 102 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. This battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in about 40 minutes at fast-charging stations. Additionally, it features a 9-channel ventilation system that optimizes battery temperature and improves range in winter conditions.

The eTerron 9 also offers innovative features like Vehicle to Load (V2L) capability, allowing it to power external devices, and a versatile cargo area with a maximum payload of 620 kg. With a towing capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes, it sets a record for all-electric pickups in its class.

The eTerron 9 is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2024, with more details on pricing and availability to be announced soon. As MAXUS continues to expand its electric vehicle offerings, the eTerron 9 represents a key step in the brand's commitment to sustainable and emission-free mobility.

Since its establishment in 2011, MAXUS has seen continuous growth in sales, setting new records this year. With the launch of the eTerron 9, the brand is further enhancing its presence in the electric vehicle sector, aiming to provide smarter and greener mobility options for users around the world.
