SAIC MAXUS Saw Its Export Volume Grow by 82% YoY in 2022

In 2022, SAIC MAXUS saw its export volume grow by 82% year on year. SAIC MAXUS has set up a new benchmark for Chinese brand trucks going global since its establishment almost twelve years ago. Currently, MAXUS products have been availabel in 73 countries and regions across the world, including 20 European countries. Notably, SAIC MAXUS pickup ended the situation in which Japanese pickup trucks dominated the ranking list for 12 years in Chile. In addition, SAIC MAXUS V90 ended the dominance of the luxury German brand in the Australian large VAN category light bus market for 23 years, maintaining its lead in the Australian commercial vehicle market as a representative of Chinese brands.
SAIC MAXUS has set new records in Australia, South America, Europe and other regions in the past 2022. In Australia, it has overtaken century-old industry giant as the annual sales champion of light bus. In Chile, SAIC MAXUS represents the largest market share among electric vehicle brands and is the number 1 pickup brand in retail volume. Its EV30 and EV90 also achieved the top market share in its segment in Spain and the top market share in Norway in the large electric light commercial vehicle segment respectively. According to global premium market ANZ 2022 data for the overall light passenger segment, SAIC MAXUS V90 took "two first places" in total sales and market share in its segment in Australia, and its all-electric EV90 was sold at a even higher price than other international leading brands in the same class in Australia. The G10 VAN category also captured 16.1% of market share in the Australian light commercial vehicle market, surpassing many leading international brands to rank second. SAIC MAXUS set new sales record in Australia in 2022, with total sales increasing year-on-year for the eighth consecutive year, much better than international top brands. In New Zealand, its cargo van ranked second in its segment with a 24.9% market share. In Europe, SAIC MAXUS continued to strengthen its leadership position in the European new energy market, with the MPV MIFA 9, the pick-up truck T90 EV, the EV30 van and the EV90 light commercial vehicle continuing to top their segments.
According to SAIC MAXUS, over 2000 SAIC MAXUS pickup trucks are to be shipped to Mexico in the first two months of 2023. MAXUS Traveller V100 caravans also realized the first export in January, becoming the first mass-produced caravan of Chinese brand in overseas market. It is also reported that its EV90 light bus has officially entered Brazil, the largest country in South America, opening up a new market in South America where electric vehicles are becoming increasingly prevalent.
While topping the list with high sales and market share, SAIC MAXUS also captured high public attention and reputation in overseas market. At the Brussels Motor Show held in January 2023, SAIC MAXUS showcased its latest line-up of electric vehicles and received wide attention. SAIC MAXUS also won 'Innovative Electric Range' and 'Electric Vehicle Manufacturer' awards at the E-Mobility Awards event organised by the UK's well-known automotive media. The T90 EV received the 'Electric Pickup Truck of the Year 2023' award in the UK. In Norway, SAIC Maxus electric SUV MIFA 6 with its exceptional performances, ranked the first place among 29 electric vehicles in the WLTP continuous driving distance competition.
In January 2023, a large number of EV90s were delivered to Norway Post for local green logistics. In the same month,150 units of EV30s were also successfully delivered to Mercado Libre, an "Amazon" e-commerce company in the Americas, setting new record for the largest one-time-delivery of logistics vehicles. Some 100 EV30s were delivered to the Spanish municipalities at the end of January, which is also the first batch of vehicles delivered since SAIC MAXUS entered the Spanish national supplier list.
