China’s Domestic Tractor Head Sales Exceed 30,000 Units in November
In November 2021, the top 10 tractor head manufacturers by end-user sales (excluding exporting and military vehicles) were FAW Jiefang, SHACMAN, FOTON, Dongfeng, SINOTRUK, Hongyan, SANY, Dayun, XCMG, JAC, Beiben, CAMC. Their combined sales reached 31,090 units, accounting for 98.7 percent of the total domestic tractor head registration volume.
SAIC reported an 8 percent increase in November tractor sales at 1406 units. Except for SAIC Hongyan, other mainstream tractor makers suffered double-digit declines. XCMG fell 9% in November, which is the smallest drop among the top ten companies in sales.
With 617,800 units sold in the January to November period, China’s tractor head has declined by 12 percent, a decline narrowed by 5 percentage points compared to that of the first ten months. The number of tractor head sold in the January to November this year was 83,000 units less than last year.
In the first 11 months, specifically, the top ten held a combined 97.71% share of the total tractor head market, a slight expansion from 97.06% in the same period last year. FAW Jiefang’s remain ranked first with cumulative sales of 173,300 units and a market share of 28.05%. The market share of SINOTRUK rose to 19.61% with its cumulative sales reaching 121,200 units in November after hitting 100,000 units mark in July. Dongfeng and SHACMAN ranked in third and fourth place, with cumulative sales reaching 92,600 and 89,400 units from January to November this year and market shares of 14.99% and 14.47% respectively. FOTON Motor came to the fifth place with January-November cumulative sales of 75,600 units and market share rising to 12.24%.
